Public School Options

Fayette County Public Schools Alternative Programs – FCPS partners in several alternative programs for youths.

Mindfulness – Teachers who incorporate yoga and mindfulness into their classrooms often see improvements in students’ attention, academics, behavior, stress levels, and mental health.

Family Care Center – High school education and social services intervention to young mothers and expectant youths ages 14 to 20.

Day Treatment – Students in grades 6 to 12 take classes under FCPS teachers in a smaller environment and receive individualized treatment and counseling from Division of Youth Services professionals.

Juvenile Detention – Youths are usually between the ages of 12 and 18 and are generally awaiting adjudication or placement at other treatment facilities, and are enrolled in FCPS and attend regular day education programs in classrooms within the facility.
